Unlock the secrets of your DNA as we explore the profound impact of ancestral trauma and how it shapes your health today. Can the experiences of those who came before you really echo through your genes, manifesting as chronic health issues like autoimmune disorders and hypertension? Our discussion peels back the layers of this complex topic through the lens of epigenetics, revealing how historic events such as slavery and the Holocaust have left an indelible mark on generations. We also examine how contemporary challenges, notably the COVID-19 pandemic, are adding new dimensions to this inherited trauma, influencing our stress responses and overall well-being.

But understanding is only the first step. Join us in the healing journey as we delve into alternative therapies that offer hope where conventional medicine falls short. From ancestral healing rituals to the power of womb clearing for women, learn practical tools and practices that nurture emotional release and personal transformation. We share personal anecdotes and experiences to highlight the importance of connecting with our feminine energy to overcome feelings of guilt and shame, underscoring the importance of gentle healing to avoid re-traumatization. Don't miss the opportunity to embrace these practices for a healthier, more grounded life.

Speaker 1:

Ancestral trauma. So I want to think about ancestral trauma in how it's created, right? So it's not just a woo-woo bullshit thing. It is something that is really really profound and really not spoken about a lot. So, for example, if you have chronic fatigue, chronic pain, sleep disturbances, you have digestive health issues, you have muscle tension, you have a, a rapid heart rate, there's frequent illness for you, your immunity is really really freaking low, you have migraines, you dizzy, you have shortness of breath, you have all of this stuff, okay, this can really mean, and that you have ancestral trauma. Let's not forget, like, if you have over cancer trauma as well, right? So, for example, if one of your parents has diabetes and it's been passed down to you, that is also ancestral trauma.

Speaker 1:

Okay, because the trauma that we experience, our ancestors face in, like they influence the genes that we have, so they kind of flick them on and off, and this isn't again like some spiritual stuff. This is literally science and epigenetics, the study of epigenetics. Okay. So when we're looking at the study of epigenetics, we're looking at how trauma has been passed down through families and often, like, in the realm of epigenetics, they take slavery and the holocaust as like two really big examples. Right, because this are. Well, these are incredible world events that have obviously impacted people massively, and there is evidence to show that survivors of the Holocaust passed down their stories and their trauma to their children, their grandchildren and even their great-grandchildren. Okay, and that's because of two things. One is your family's story. What is the narrative around things? Oh well, I was a survivor of the Holocaust. That could mean one or two things. It could mean that you're really independent and you're really like fighting and you're really happy that you did that. Or the other one could be the victim mentality. And victim mentality isn't a bad, bad thing, right, it is all about just surviving, just surviving. Okay, the victim mentality is a survival mechanism, but it also gets a really, really big wrap of negativity. And, hi, shauna, I'm here talking about ancestral trauma, as always. But when we look at slavery, for example, then what people went through and the genetic things that happened to them, there is like, for example, for women, fibroids are way more common in black women than white women. You know, hypertension is really really common in African people or Caribbean people. So, like, what we're seeing is trauma being passed down. Okay, because hypertension is a trauma that you can pass down over and over.

Speaker 1:

So you know, some people might say to me hey, christy, like my family doesn't have trauma. But if your family has lived through a war, if he's lived through a recession, if he's lived through any event, world event, it probably has trauma. Your family will have trauma from COVID. You will have trauma from COVID why? Because it was a rapid thing that caused us to feel overwhelmed and unable to cope. That's what trauma is Like. It was a rapid thing that caused us to feel overwhelmed and unable to cope. That's what trauma is like. It was something like rapidly changing. I remember the day when they were like, oh, we're closing all of the shops down and I was like what? Like this is crazy.

Speaker 1:

And then what we have then is our nervous system regular, you know nervous system related symptoms, so hypervigilant. We might be super hypervigilant all the time. We may feel like we're on edge or we're always anxious about something. We may have startled response where somebody will come up to you to say hi and you'll like like ah, and it frightens the shit out of you. Like I have startled response all the time. There may be numbness, there may be temperature sensitivity as well, like we're not just talking about the things that are really tricky, you know, that are just obvious. Okay, it could be like your temperature sensitivity, like struggling to regulate your temperature can be a real big sign of ancestral trauma as well. And it's about all these things that like literally nobody talks about, nobody knows, and it's just about bringing it to the surface.

Speaker 1:

And when we are thinking more around, like stress-related symptoms we can bring in the thyroid, then the thyroid is this beautiful butterfly looking thing in the throat and it's. It looks beautiful, but if it's not working, it completely messes up your entire body. So when it's not working, what we're having is we're having auto autoimmune disorders. So we could have arthritis, we could have psoriasis, we could have your underactive thyroid, your overactive thyroid, we could have lupus, like it's so many different things. You have increased inflammation throughout the body. What does that mean? That causes so many different problems for us? Like our bodies are not designed to be in a state of inflammation.

Speaker 1:

Totally, you may have cardio, cardiovascular get that word out in the end issues of like high blood pressure, like increased risk of heart disease, like all of this stuff. It can be really big stuff. Okay, weight fluctuations A huge thing is like gaining weight, not able to lose it. You may or you may have the other way unexplained weight loss and unable to understand why, like how, maybe you may eat all the time and not gain weight, or if you do, it falls off instantly. Or you gain weight and you hold it. Um, you just, yeah, you gain weight, you hold it.

Speaker 1:

And this could be a protection for you, but also be protection for your ancestors as well and the emotions and the behaviors and the personality traits that they pass down to you, because 98% of your DNA is those things, not your eye color, not your hair color, not how you look. 98% is all around your emotional well-being, which, for me is, is like mental. I remember reading that I think genes determine, like, how happy you are by 52%. So if you come from a family where things are like things are being tough or turbulent or they're not great, like that, 52% like 52% of your DNA determines how happy you're gonna be. Like this is no joke and like nobody is talking about it. Like what the like? I never see this online.

Speaker 1:

When I see people talk about ancestral trauma, they often lean into the more spiritual side and hello, she is spiritual over here, but I want to. I want to see more of this scientific evidence, because it's not just something made up and woo-woo and something that is just kind of plucked out the air. It's real, it's based in science, it's based in research. Okay, there are hormonal imbalances as well, so so, yeah, we're going back to that thyroid issue, we're going back to irregular periods, painful periods, pcos, endometriosis. We're going through a whole list of period things, which means that we could be holding ancestral trauma in our womb, which I'm going to get onto more in a little bit. Other things that we can have is low libido. We could have pain during the SEGS. I'm not sure if I can say that on the instagram, but the segs, um, there may be fertility issues. There may be continued miscarriages as well.

Speaker 1:

So not only are we contending with all of this stuff, we are having to like deal with our bodies, like reacting in a way that causes us further trauma, right? So this is what's really important to just remember with ancestral trauma is that it didn't start with you. You are not like a fresh person who is just kind of hey, love, and you're not just kind of like a fresh person with no connection to their ancestors. Your DNA determines so much about you and this is the unspoken thing like people don't talk about it where, like all of these signs, symptoms can really affect you and it all comes from your ancestors. It's not just like, oh, that thing happens. I don't believe that.

Speaker 1:

You know, modern, modern medicine is all about being like reactive instead of preventative, and when you start to open your eyes to ancestral healing, to wound clearing, to these alternative medicines or the holistic therapies, you move into a place from reaction into preventative and that will give you a long, lasting, healthy life. Being on the reactive end, like I am now, like my story is like. When I was 23, I got diagnosed with an underactive thyroid, told I'd be on medicine for the rest of my life. My health has gradually declined since then and then I had a major operation. My health declined since then and it's all because of chronic stress, it's all because I didn't look after myself. It's all because I kind of ignored this, this huge thing, and thought, oh, my family are just my family, it's you. You know that's their issues. It's not mine, but obviously my DNA came from them, so it is my issue.

Speaker 1:

And when we're kind of thinking about how do we deal with this like? This sounds big and it sounds scary, and it totally does, but this is why womb clearing is so, so important. Okay, the womb especially, for, like a woman, we are holding all of our emotions in our hips. What normally happens is the emotion comes in and, like we'll feel it in the heart, we'll feel it in the heart space. What happens then is it comes in, it settles within our hips, and I see this all the time in the thousands of clients I've worked with. We have heavy hips. I can often feel like a heaviness on my lower back or my hips when I'm working with clients. This tells me that there are emotions that I can feel them almost like concreted into the hips when I'm doing healing. And also I'm able to kind of see the womb space like how does it look, um, and you know whatever is in there, what are the ovaries looking like, what are, what's the? What's the room space, what does it look like?

Speaker 1:

And if there's like any negativity, that I often see like a sort of black mist which is kind of like yeah, real weird thing to say, but that's how it is and you know signs that you could be doing with a um, a womb clearing, for example, would be feeling emotionally blocked. You may feel stuck. You may feel completely isolated from your emotions. I'd be doing a lot of this stuff with one of my ladies at the moment on my one-to-one reborn and, yeah, we have managed to really like for somebody who was not feeling any emotions. We've managed to like completely lock into her emotions and it's kind of coming up now, but it's coming up in a gentle way that she's able to cope with it and navigate it.

Speaker 1:

We never push people into like healing crises where they can't do anything for two weeks because they're just crying the whole time. We don't want that. So what we're doing is we are literally bringing things up gradually so she can do it. But part of what I do with every client is I try and get them strong enough to get to a point where they feel strong, they feel resilient, they feel able to do it, so that when this does come up, they're able to handle it. It's so, and I, you know, we don't just drag people through it. We try and push them through gently so that we're not causing loads and loads of trauma as we're doing it, because we don't want to re-traumatize people and we definitely definitely don't want to trigger people.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now, what else does it mean to be having, like you know, signs that you need a wound clearing? It could be carrying deep emotional pain, where you kind of just feel like this weight on you but you just don't know why. You might wake up in the morning and feel guilt or shame, and you haven't even got out of bed and you don't know why. You may have unresolved grief, which could be about, like fertility issues, pregnancy, or actually around like your mother not being the mother that you wanted, your father not being the father that he wanted. You know not having the family that you wanted, your father not being the father that he wanted. You know not having the family that you wanted. This can all cause grief and there may be a difficulty of letting go of past lovers or emotional connections, including like your friends.

Speaker 1:

There can be feelings of guilt, shame or unworthiness around your body and around sexuality, because we end up internalizing this stuff massively. Oh no, I don't want to put a thumbs up to that. I don't want to put a thumbs up to that. I'm sorry. I like, yeah, instagram did me dirty there, um, but yeah, you can have feelings of shame, guilt and worthiness around your body and around your sex. You know, around sexuality it might be really hard for you to feel sensual, to feel feminine. You know there'll be a lack of connection to your feminine energy because you're rejecting that part of you. Right, we're told totally all the time how we need to be disconnected from our womb and how, like you know, we just we don't need to be connected to our space. It's one of the last things and you know we're taught that our mental cycle is often dirty or an inconvenience and then that further rejects our, our femininity.

Speaker 1:

Right, you may have reoccurring feelings of sadness or heaviness. You know, especially in like the lower tummy or pelvic area, you may have chronic pelvic pain and be like I have no idea where this came from. You may have unresolved anger. Now, this is a really interesting one because, especially as women, we are not taught how to express anger and our anger may come towards like past partners, towards our mother, towards like other female ancestors and maybe towards our father. Like this, all will manifest in our lower hip energy and, yeah, you may kind of feel creatively blocked all the time.

Speaker 1:

You may feel like this is just ridiculous and when you know we're talking about this stuff, like I've mentioned some of the physical symptoms anyway, but when you know we're talking about this stuff, like I've mentioned some of the physical symptoms anyway, but you know, when we're talking about the chronic, chronic reproductive health issues, often we get told just go on contraception, they'll fix it. But it's not. It is a core reason of why, like we are not doing, we're not like looking after our health properly is well, like, for example, I was 16, I was put on contraception because I had heavy periods. But I was never taught anything about trauma, the impact of that, epigenetics, any of this stuff. Nobody ever spoke to me about this and I didn't learn about this until I was late 20s, early 30s.

Speaker 1:

So when we're having chronic health issues, we're having irregular periods, we're having painful periods, we're having, you know, prolonged cycles, we may be having cysts, fibroids, pcos, endometriosis, all of this stuff which could be us carrying trauma from our ancestors, from our mum, from everybody. And don't forget like, when you're in the womb, you would have absorbed everything that your mum went through. So say, for example, mum had a car accident or she was involved in something highly stressful stressful you would have absorbed all of that as a baby. And don't forget that your mum would have been a fetus in your grandmother, right when your grandmother was pregnant. Your mum would have been a fetus, but the fetus has all the eggs it's ever going to have. So what does that mean? It means that you were an egg inside your mum, who was a fetus, who was inside your grandmother. So you were inside your grandmother, everything that she experienced as well, like you would have experienced that as well.

Speaker 1:

So it's like that double layer of stuff, okay, and when we're talking about, um, you know we're talking about fertility changes without a medical explanation. You may have had all the tests done under the world and then, like you know, in the world and be like well, why do I still have these issues and doctors just don't have an answer for you. There's an energetic component to this. We are spiritual beings having a human experience, right? So what's really important is, yeah, is understanding that that there is sometimes, if we go through, like the medical system and they don't have any answers for us, it's probably energetic or emotional which, if we don't deal with our emotions, then they become physical. That's it.

Speaker 1:

So other stuff like you can have as part of, like needing a room clearing, could be pain during intercourse, low libido, difficulty accessing um sexual sexual partners. You know, it could be that you just really don't want it. You may have, uh, the jj dryness or tension as well. I'm not sure what words I'm allowed to say on instagram, but these could be just things that you're going through. You might be like, oh, why is this not right? Why is this not not okay? Um, you may have more pelvic pain. We talked things that you're going through. You might be like, oh, why is this not right? Why is this not okay? You may have more pelvic pain. We talked about that. You know digestive problems. You may have pain in the lower tummy. You may have bloating, you may have reoccurring UTIs Like it could be a whole thing.

Speaker 1:

And you know, finally, the spiritual element of signs that you could do with a wound clearing is being disconnected from your body and your intuition and your inner wisdom. Not only do our ancestors come with a lot of pain hey, janine come with a lot of pain, they come with a lot of wisdom as well. They would have experienced stuff that we should be able to tap into as a spiritual being. Right, and when we're feeling disconnected from our ancestral lineage and our maternal ancestors, we're feeling disconnected from the wisdom as well. You know, something else that might be happening is your repeating unhealthy relationship patterns, especially romantic or sexual relationships. You may be just in this cycle of F-boys and not being able to cope, or you might end up in the same relationships over and over and over again.

Speaker 1:

Or, you know, you might have been very lucky and found that person of safety, which is gorgeous, but you know, not everybody finds that and if you find yourself in repeated patterns, not only in relationships or any area of your life, this can be a very big block within your womb. So you may feel it's hard to manifest your desires. You may not find it easy to ground. You may have reoccurring dreams, you know, and you may have just this pull to, like you know, heal your generational trauma. That might just be something where you're like.

Speaker 1:

That really stands out to me, but I don't really know why. It's because your intuition is, because your soul knows that you need some of that healing. So I, you know I'm, I love all this stuff. I can sit you and talk to you forever, but I've got to get ready for mother at 7 pm, where we're doing a really cool thing, where we're going to be going through some previous behaviors and we're going to be going back and we're gonna be linking, like, the root cause to behaviors, which is one of my favorite things to do because it brings around so much self-awareness. So I love to do this and, yeah, so I have literally three spaces left for womb whispers, which is my two hour immersion, which is really designed to help you drop into your femininity, to clear that womb space, to clear any ancestral trauma. This is laying the foundation to start clearing some of that.

Speaker 1:

In the two hour immersion, we're going to be going through multiple healing modalities. We're going to be doing a lot of breath work. We're going to be going through multiple healing modalities. We're going to be doing a lot of breath work. We're going to be doing, um, like a healing ritual. We're going to be doing, yeah, some EFT tapping. We're going to be doing it all in order to really shift this, this, this stuff within us, okay, and feel more connected to who we are, and I absolutely cannot wait.

Speaker 1:

It's going to be incredible, like what you can expect to do is to feel so much lighter afterwards. You'll feel like you're walking on air because you'll just won't have this stuff that you need to carry around anymore. You're going to have a deeper connection, understanding of your ancestral like lineage and why it's so important and why it impacts you. You're going to feel like more empowered to take your healing journey forward, which is really, really exciting because, yeah, once you realize that a lot of this stuff didn't start with you, you're able to kind of let go and just really take your healing journey forward. You're really allowed to like, let go and start to be like your more authentic self, because you because you know a lot of us are told to be seen. You know not to be seen to be seen. You know not to be seen to be quiet, to shut up, to do all this stuff.

Speaker 1:

You know we've come from a lineage of women who have been oppressed and you know we have women who are most likely being accused of being witches back in the day or even threatened with the accusation of it, which is enough. The threat of the threat of violence or, you know, is traumatic enough. It doesn't actually have to happen. So you know we we've got women who've lived through wars in our family, you know, especially if you live in Britain, if you're a Welsh girl, you would have had the Aberfan accident. There are so many things that would have happened that would have caused trauma, as as like world and life events within our family line, and that's what we're going to be working on clearing. We're not going to clear it all in two hours because obviously I'm you know, I'm good, but I'm not a miracle worker.

Speaker 1:

But this is going to be a really, really good start to give you the tools for you to be able to take away and repeat the practice over and over, because the session's going to be recorded, so it's going to be sent straight to your inbox and at the moment it's just like 11.11. I wanted to do it super cheap so that everybody has the opportunity to jump in. There's only three spaces left, so make sure you comment, whisper below if you would like the link sent to your inbox. And that's kind of me for today. I've just been talking a lot about ancestral traumas. If you joined late, make sure to go back and re-watch. Thank you so much for joining me. It's been great and, yeah, thank you very much and I will see you soon.
